Found a new addon that might be worth checking out. It's called Keyed, and it lets you know what mythic+ keys everyone else in guild has. Might make it easier to find the mythic+ groups you need, but it only works if everyone in guild has the addon. Seems lightweight enough.
...Or we could just write the key in guild notes. That would work too.
Really happy to hear you're opening up the floor for discussion on this, and that we'll still be running EN on normal. Even though some may not need it, it'll be a nice way to focus on mechanics, and seeing how the fight is supposed to go. Not to mention, it'll give those who aren't part of the core team a chance to run with us. Also, gear or not, I'm sure I'm not the only one who still needs to be running on normal for quests.
As for KZ groups, we can probably break out at the end of raid and decide on groups then--KZ definitely feels like a 5-man raid, what with 7 bosses, so a little more coordination on groups would be needed compared with short mythics or mythic+'s. Should we just open a new thread for that, or do we have that info squirreled away somewhere?
PS: When I proofread, I sadly tend to edit typos in. Words are hard.
Thanks for all the responses. We will stick with heroic EN tonight and hopefully we can down at least three bosses maybe more. Kara has been a lot of fun and we have seen some great drops in there. Let's start using the Green Raid text channel in Discord for further discussion. I will keep checking this thread but the text channels in Discord are a great place to post and respond in real time. Let's see if we can start forming up a couple groups via that channel. Post your specs youvarebwilling to play and availability for mythic+ and Kara during the week on off raid nights.
I would be okay with the extra raid night to do normal for quest item grinding and off-spec gear that doesn't go towards GP. I'm also down for a Karazahn night in place too. Since it's 5 people I can see that being any weekday that group of 5 wants to run it I don't think we would need to get rid of one of the two or possibly three true raid nights for that. Do Kara on Mon-Wed sometime when the 5 can get those upgrades then keep up the with normal raid nights Heroic on Thursday&Sunday and then Normal on Friday or Saturday. uhhhh I think I answered everything k thank bye.
I'm going to step in and boss lady this thread up for a second in regards to EPGP.
If you're doing an alt run (in normal) there shouldn't be any EP or GP going out. That being said, if you bring an alt to normal raid it needs to be attached to your main (an officer has to edit your officer note).
I think these are great ideas and I'm glad you're discussing them! Keep it up :D
From a floater perspective I think the additional runs are a great idea - gives me a chance to catch up so I can still float in the raid without being totally useless. No matter how many youtube videos I watch, its never the same as actually keeping fresh in a raid in an attempt to over-preform as I by default will be behind on iLvl. It is difficult to transition right to heroic from only doing normal 1 time (and LFR really doesn't count).
I agree with Shadda on the EPGP point - to me its no difference, but putting myself in a full-timer position I wouldn't have any incentive to go to normal EN to have to use my EPGP for off-specing. Speaking of that, normal EN is probably a good way to fix the current issue of people being under geared for OS which gives us more flexibility.
For me, I see it as nothing but a good thing to having an additional raid night if people want to.
This sounds solid. :)
I think Fri or Sat (both work for me) Normal EN would be a good way for people to learn the mechanics and obtain any gear they need in addition to the new Karazhan dungeon gear. I also think if this Fri/Sat option is going to be a thing, the EPGP system should not be valid. The gear system that would be in place is 'If y'all need it, need it. If y'all don't, don't.' Replace any old gear this way.
Green Peeps! Let your fellow raiders know if you need attunements--we need to work on that to help you gear up! Let us know in general what needs to be replaced and where we can go via dungeons to get you guys geared!
I'm almost 'tuned up, just need to do the Kara quests in Deadwind and I'll be all set. :) I wouldn't mind running Karazhan on Thursday. Looks like a fun place!
I also wouldn't mind Heroic EN as long as we don't beat our faces against a wall for two hours haha.
Last thing: we should talk about mythic+ groups within the raid. We should start pushing for keystone 5+ and going beyond. There are strats on how to get through the dungeons within the time limit on Icy-Veins I believe.
Anyway, I like all this. Lets all talk about it and see what people think. :)
First off I wanted to thank everyone for your time and commitment to the raid. I know that our Il'gynoth attempt the other night for 2 hours was rough on some. Thank you to everyone that stuck it out. I think with a few small tweaks we will get it down and be able to progress on.
On that note there were some that expressed an interest in running EN on normal. I am pretty split on this. On one hand I can understand some peoples frustration with long nights of repeated attempts on one boss and seeming like we weren't progressing, and for some cruising through normal would add a better feel. On the other hand I don't want to give up pushing heroic and further and I don't think one night a week will give us that chance.
One solution would be to have a 3rd optional raid night (Friday or Saturday as likely choices) that could be dedicated to normal runs. This would be for those that want to finish up quests, get a few pieces of gear to fill in anything below 850, and to brush up on mechanics (and open to alts). I would like to hear from everyone on this and see what your thoughts are and what would be good nights. Again this would be purely optional and we would use either need before greed or personal loot for gear.
The other thing to think about is the new raid that is coming out in a couple weeks. I would love to have Heroic EN down completely by then so we can do one night focused on the new raid and one night on EN. So if everyone (or the majority) are ok with it I would like to keep pushing heroic on our normal nights (Thursday and Friday) and try and coordinate a separate night for those that want to do normal.
This week is the release of Karazan which looks to be a very fun dungeon (5-man raid.) I played around in there for a little bit of time last night and it was fun and drops better gear than normal EN (lots of relic artifacts.) I had a few people ask and I wanted to throw this option out there: hold off raiding this Thursday night and have groups form up (from within Green Raid) and dedicate the night Karazan. This is very last minute and would need everyone's approval in doing. I don't want to cheat anyone out of a raid night but the potential is there for really good gear if people take it amongst them selves to form groups and run. It has the potential also to be a disaster if not everyone is for it or if people get left out. It is a lock out so can only do it once a week. So unless I see enough people wanting to do we will stick with Heroic EN Thursday night.
All in all I think we are doing well. There are a lot of little things everyone can do to push the heroic EN content and I am not going to go into here except for a few things. Watch some heroic videos and really get the mechanics down, push mythic+ every time you get a chance to up your gear (we should really be pushing for 850-855 minimum on Heroic, and stay out of ground poo.
Please let me know all of your thoughts, and push people to come to the forums and let us know if they have any ideas. Please don't be a shy if you guys have questions or comments during the raid or after (but lets keep the chatter down during the fights.) Again thank you to everyone that is showing up and working together.
P.S. I never proof read
